Broadband in India

    Wrestling with BSNL

N R Colony is a very nice locality, except just that getting a broadband connection here is equally tough. For last one week, I've been enjoying living very close to the lovely vegetarian restaurants of Basavanagudi, our usual hang outs of DVG Road, and not-so-polluted air of Bugle rock park. It is back to all-Kannada neighbourhood, which feels more like home (more like Shimoga where I've lived for more years than any other place), but not connected to the Internet all this while.

    Airtel fits in

After many painful days of switching ISPs and no proper Internet, it seems I've found a good one at last. [:http://airtel.in/|Airtel] -  the mobile phone service provider now seems to have one of the best broadband service in India. Even the service men who came for installation looked more professional in their work. Good thing is that they even provide an extra land-line that does not require you to pay any rentals.

Tata Indicom 'Broadband' is the *worst* of all!

After almost 2 weeks of toil with frequent disconnections, I'm furious with Tata Indicom 'Broadband' service and quite intent to throw the connection away for some better Internet service. The month long wait for the connection wasn’t worth anything, after all. Just a rain or power cut seems to be enough excuse for the service to go down!
