Some network issues left me in a bit of fix during last few days. While restoring everything back to normal, there was the usual 'you know what' blue screen on the Windows installation after which it wouldn't boot. Since I have ubuntu installed as well on my laptop, it is more than 'irritation' to repair or reinstall Windows XP - the GRUB/LILO bootloaders on MBR get overwritten.

Download Accelerator, Download Manager for Fedora

There are quite a few Download Managers for Linux, though very few can be compared to the likes of Getright or Flashget of Windows. It is really impressive to see few of those download managers with the quality of software that we get on Windows (and in few aspects probably more than what we can get on windows). Searching for Download Managers for fedora, I came across this very nice Download Manager available for free. WebDownloader for X 2.5.0 final - is a wonderful piece of software that has large number of options. It supports multiple connections and can resume broken downloads. Queueing, Filters, Scheduler all are there. The Latest rpms are available at freshrpms.net & can also be downloaded here. (PS: The geeky Linux users might reckon that this ain't required at all when we have the nice old wget doing all this. But y'know, it really helps Linux to reach the not-so-geeky users with this kind of application)
