RSS feeds can now be customised with this service called feeburner. The customizations include amazon affiliate ads listing and lot more. The best thing from this service that I liked was that the service sends out RSS in the standard the user requests (atom, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, whichever).
They also provide an applet that flashes out your latest blog entires that can be used on other sites.
