(Admonition: this blog post is an outright gripe)
The passion people here in India seem to have for Cricket goes without saying. Catching the glimpse of a giant size poster of Dhoni in a near-to-remote village last week, I had wondered how much of heroes the Cricket players are made into, here in India (leaving past some real heroes of real life). They get so much of attention, as much money and wishes of almost a billion. But somehow, they always manage to get themselves into a loosing streak.
Now, it is way too conspicuous that Indian team needs a better opener. While Sachin Tendulkar has almost all the time been the lone fighter (but looks like he missed out today) - the spot of bother has been the pathetic opening the Indians have been getting on the other end. The incredibly nervous Indian players (or so they appear when we get to watch them bat), have always had this sizzling itch for spectacular batting collapse. We haven't forgotten the infamous last World Cup final, have we?
Jaffer out for a duck, we loose the first match; the second match, we loose, Sehwag back with another duck. The troubled opener's profile is on [:http://content-ind.cricinfo.com/india/content/player/35263.html?index=s…]. Dravid opened pretty badly too, whenever he dared that recently.
Well, it is time to gripe about the exorbitantly rich Indian team that has been showing people [:http://content-ind.cricinfo.com/rsavind/content/current/story/269891.ht…|bad Cricket].
